Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Riveta.

Do my customers need to create an account to view or approve an estimate?

No. Customers receive a unique link and can open, review, and approve the estimate on any phone or computer — no app download, no sign-up, no password. The link works for anyone who has it.

How does deposit collection work?

Deposits are processed through Stripe. Once a customer approves the estimate, they pay by card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay right inside the same page. Funds are deposited into your connected Stripe account, typically within 2 business days.

Is the digital signature legally binding?

Yes. Riveta captures the customer's typed name alongside a timestamp, IP address, and browser user-agent string. This creates a detailed audit record that serves as evidence of agreement and stands up in most jurisdictions the same way a wet signature does.

Can I put my own logo and business name on estimates?

Absolutely. You can upload your business logo, set your company name, and add your license number. Every estimate your customers see is branded to your business — not to Riveta.

What happens when a customer declines an estimate?

You get notified immediately and can see any message they leave explaining why. From your dashboard you can revise the scope, adjust pricing, and resend a new version — all without creating a new estimate from scratch.

Is there a limit on how many estimates I can send?

The free plan includes 5 estimates per month — enough to try Riveta with real jobs. All paid plans have unlimited estimates and unlimited customers, so you can send as many as your business needs without counting.

What trades does Riveta work for?

Any trade that writes estimates. Riveta is used by roofers, plumbers, electricians, HVAC techs, painters, landscapers, general contractors, handymen, and more. If you quote jobs and collect deposits, it works for you.

How do I connect Stripe to collect deposits?

Go to Settings in your dashboard and click Connect Stripe. You'll be walked through Stripe's onboarding in a few minutes — no separate Stripe account setup needed beforehand. Stripe handles all payment processing and compliance.

Can I send change orders after the original estimate is approved?

Yes. If the scope changes mid-job, you can create a change order from the same estimate. Your customer gets a new approval link, signs off on the additional scope, and pays any additional deposit — same smooth process as the original estimate.

How do I know when a customer opens or approves my estimate?

Riveta tracks every event in real time — sent, opened, approved, declined, and deposit paid. You'll receive a notification the moment something happens, and the full timeline is visible in your dashboard on each estimate's detail page.

Can customers pay the full invoice through Riveta, or just the deposit?

Right now Riveta is optimised for deposit collection at the point of approval. Final invoice payments are typically handled through your normal invoicing process. We're actively working on full invoice payment support.

Is my data secure?

Yes. All data is stored in a SOC 2-compliant Supabase (Postgres) database with row-level security. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe — Riveta never stores card details. Connections use TLS in transit and data is encrypted at rest.
